This past week, Year 3 children have shown incredible creativity and hard work. They dove into the exciting world of “Arthur and the Golden Rope” by Joe Todd Stanton and created their own amazing stories inspired by the modern myth.
First, pupils learned all about storytelling—like how to create interesting characters, imagine cool settings, and think up exciting plots. They started by introducing their unlikely hero, a brave adventurer, and then set him or her on a thrilling quest to find a legendary relic and save the day!
In their stories, their character faced all sorts of challenges and adventures. Some kids had the hero exploring mysterious forests, while others sent him into enchanted caves. They described these places using rich and colourful language, making their stories come alive.
The children also practiced writing dialogue, making their characters speak in ways that showed their personalities.
Instead of just telling us what happened, the pupils used action and sensory details to show us. Instead of saying their hero was scared, they wrote about his heart pounding and his hands shaking. This made their stories much more exciting.
