Year 3 -History: Stone Age to the Iron Age

Year 3 have loved learning about the Stone Age to the Iron Age in our block curriculum unit of history. Children have already covered the three key area of prehistory in the Stone Age: the Palaeolithic (early), Mesolithic (Middle), and Neolithic (new), and we have looked at how this age overlaps and gradually gives way to the Bronze Age.

In today’s lesson, children looked at the Bronze Age, and looked at its cultural and historical significance. Children looked into farming, weapons, and the Beaker Bell Culture (they inverted a bell and used it for drinking… the name beaker is still used today!).
