Year 3 children focused on the human skeleton and learned that there are 206 to 213 bones in a human body, compared to 270 in an infant. This is because bones fuse together and in adult humans there may be slight variations in numbers of bones such as ribs and vertebrae etc. Children focused on learning the names and the location of certain bones and they made a paper skeleton in their group to help with research. We also looked at how bones make blood, give support, movement, and protect organs.
