Year 3 and 4 – the Big Lent Walk

Today marked a special occasion as the enthusiastic pupils of Year 3 and 4, along with teachers and supportive parents, embarked on a meaningful journey: the Big Lent Walk. This delightful event wasn’t just about enjoying the beauty of nature but also about making a difference and raising money in the fight against global poverty.

Our destination? The picturesque Heaton Park. The purpose of our walk was twofold: to raise awareness and funds to combat global poverty, and to partake in a collective act of solidarity and compassion during the Lenten season. Throughout our journey, we paused every 200 meters, not just to catch our breath, but to offer prayers for those affected by poverty and hardship around the world. These moments of reflection allowed us to connect on a deeper level, fostering empathy and understanding for the struggles faced by others.
