Today, we had the privilege of hosting a special visit from our local firefighters, Matt and Joe. This visit offered our children a wonderful opportunity to learn about fire safety and explore a fire engine up close.
The excitement was palpable as the fire engine arrived at our school. The children were thrilled to see the impressive vehicle and eagerly gathered around to learn more about it. Matt and Joe gave the pupils an in-depth tour, showing them all the equipment that firefighters use on a daily basis. From hoses to helmets, each piece of gear was explained in detail, highlighting its importance in firefighting operations.
One of the most exciting parts of the visit was when the children had the chance to spray the hose. Under the careful supervision of Matt and Joe, the pupils took turns handling the powerful hose, experiencing firsthand how firefighters control the flow of water to extinguish fires. The children also had the opportunity to try on the protective helmets and sit in both the front and back of the fire engine, giving them a true sense of what it’s like to be a firefighter.
The session was an amazing experience for the kids, filled with excitement and learning. The children loved every moment, and their enthusiasm was evident in the numerous questions they asked about fire safety. Matt and Joe were more than happy to answer, providing valuable information and tips on how to stay safe in case of a fire.
We are incredibly grateful to Matt and Joe for taking the time to visit our school and share their knowledge and experience with our pupils. The visit not only sparked an interest in fire safety but also inspired many of the children to consider the bravery and dedication required to be a firefighter.
