During STEM week, Year 1 had the challenge of designing a butterfly to camouflage in a space in an environment. Pupils learned about different animals in the wild that camouflage such as leopards, moths and chameleons. Children learned that some animals camouflage so that their predators cannot find them and other animals camouflage to sneak up on their prey!
Children were then challenged to design their own butterfly that would camouflage into an area of the playground. Pupils chose their area and matched the colour and pattern of their butterfly to their chosen space.
