This half term, Year 1 have been learning different dances in their PE lessons. Children first started this unit by counting to 8 and keeping the beat of the music before putting any actions to a song.
The children then listened to the sea shanty song ‘Wellerman’ and acted as pirates! They came up with dance moves such as flapping their arms like a parrot, swimming in the seven seas and digging for treasure. Pupils then worked in pairs to create and perform their dances to the rest of the class!
