Year 1 – Maths – Measuring

This week in maths, Year 1 have begun a new unit on measurement. Pupils have used non-standard units such as cubes, counters and chains to measure different objects in the classroom. Children found that the bigger the unit, the smaller number of them needed to measure an object. Pupils then recorded their findings and discussed which non-standard unit they preferred to measure with.
