Year 1 – Forest School

This half term in forest school we have been exploring our natural environment and making lots of different things!

We have made forest music using harmonicas that we made out of lollipop sticks and string, and used tree stumps as drums and twigs as our drumsticks. We have also built shelters using sticks and different waterproof materials to hide in when it rains.

In forest school we have also used water colours to create beautiful artwork of leaves. The rain then came down and our colours all mixed in to one!

During our last week in forest school this half term, we looked closely at natural materials such as conkers, leaves and sticks to see what shapes and patterns we could find. We also have a new building in forest school – our bug hotel! It has brought along some new guests. We have found ladybirds and woodlice so far!
