Year 1 – Computing – Pictograms

Year 1 have been using Purple Mash to create their own pictograms. Pupils started off by creating a paper pictogram about the ways in which they travelled to school. They found out that travelling by car was most popular and travelling by scooter was least popular! They then used this information to create a digital pictogram and then interpreted the data as a whole class. In the next lesson, children created an individual pictogram by rolling a dice 20 times and recording how many times it landed on a certain number. Children then compared their pictograms with a partner. Year 1 then recapped how to save their work and give it an appropriate title in their Purple Mash account.
