STEM Week Water Clocks

In year 2 we started our STEM Week discussing what time means to us. We talked about how people tell the time and how this was done before modern clocks were invented. Then we were introduced to the clepsydra- AKA the water clock. Using plastic bottle we made water locks and investigated how we could use them to measure an amount of time. We noticed that the size of the hole in the lid controlled the amount of water which could pass through. Then we marked different intervals of time so we could use our water clocks to measure an exact amounts of time.
