Investigating how objects move on different surfaces

We have been learning about materials in class and have been learning about performing fair tests. To explore creating a fair test we investigated how objects move on different surfaces. Using toy cars we investigated how they travelled on a range of surfaces including wooden flooring, carpet, tarmac and artificial grass. To ensure a fair test we ensured that all vehicles were launched from a ramp of the same height and that the distance they travelled was measured accurately. We found that the toy cars travelled the furthest on smooth, flat surfaces.
