High Five Netball Success

A squad of six girls and three boys from year 6 represented St Teresa’s in the Newcastle Schools’ High Five Netball competition. High Five is a version of netball for younger players, and includes both boys and girls.

Having only just started playing in a school club at the beginning of this year, all players were fantastic, honing their skills learnt in club to perform some excellent match play. The competition began with a group stage with St Teresa’s winning all three games (and not conceding a single goal). We beat: St Cuthbert’s, Wallbottle 1-0, Walkergate Primary School 3-0 and Sacred Heart, Fenham 6-0.

The team progressed to the semi-final where they met another Sacred Heart team, unfortunately losing 3-1. The final game was against Beech Hill Primary School where the team were very unlucky, losing the game in the final moments with a scoreline of 2-1.

All players in the squad represented the school with passion, resilience and team-work; we are immensely proud of them.
