Reception are learning about jungle animals and this week are enjoying activities linked to this theme.
Some of the children worked as a team to create their own zoo to put the wild animals in. They discussed what the animals would need and evaluated their design as they built.
Other children chose to build a jungle scene using the loose parts. They were able to talk about what they were doing and even knew some facts about the animals.
There was some lovely independent writing in the mark making area. The children looked at posters about the wild animals and thought of their own sentence and the drew a picture to accompany the writing.
Some children practised their cutting skills by cutting out wild animals and sticking them on to a jungle scene.
Reception have been learning some directional language and it was great to hear it being used within their play. The cars were being directed to turn right, left and go straight forward.
