Reception have been enjoying learning about the season of Autumn and the changes that occur in nature. The children have enjoyed activities in their ‘COOL’ learning (Choose our own learning) linked to the season of Autumn. The children made their own Autumn headband by using scissors to cut out autumn leaves and sticking them onto a strip and then this was fitted to their head to complete the headband. The children reviewed their work and were able to talk about the process.
The children worked as a team to make their very own autumn tree using lots of natural resources. They talked about how some trees change as the leaves turn to oranges, reds, browns and then eventually fall from the trees.
Some children chose to complete some mindful colouring, taking their time and concentrating so as not to go outside the lines. As the children coloured they talked about what they could see in their autumn picture.
